Based in San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy, Pagani Automobili is an elite hypercar manufacturer that produces some of the most exclusive high-performance vehicles on earth. For the brand’s most discerning customers, however, Pagani offers bespoke build services under its Grandi Complicazioni division — formerly known as the Special Projects division. The latest project to be produced by this special arm of the company is the all-new Huayra Codalunga — a five-unit hypercar inspired by 1960s race cars.
Drawing influence from ‘60s-era aviation designs as well as long tail-style Le Mans racers, the Codalunga is longer, lower, and smoother than the Huayra Coupé that the hypercar is based on. Painstakingly developed by Pagani over the course of two years, the vehicle is constructed around a carbon-titanium monocoque chassis that’s been paired with an active, forged aluminum alloy, independent double-wishbone suspension setup and single-piece forged Avional wheels.
Boasting a dry weight of 2,822lbs, the Huayra Codalunga is cloaked in a full suite of carbon fiber bodywork with an active aero kit that includes four flaps with variable profiles. Powering the hypercar is a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 with three valves per cylinder that’s mated to a transverse-mounted, Pagani by Xtrac seven-speed sequential transmission and is good for 840hp and 811ft-lbs of torque. Pagani also partnered with numerous high-end aftermarket companies to develop various components for the Huayra Codalunga, including a quad-muffler titanium exhaust system courtesy of Arrow that weighs only 9.7lbs and six-piston Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes designed specifically for Pagani.
Limited to only five examples worldwide, the 2023 Pagani Huayra Codalunga has been priced at €7,000,000 (~$7,418,000) — though all five units are already spoken for.
